Alice in Wonderland - Painting the Roses Red

My most recent work is this twisted rendition of Alice in Wonderland. Also inspired by the computer video game, American McGee’s Alice, depicting Alice’s life after her house is burned down by a fire, killing her parents. As one of my favourite books as a kid, this project was really fun to do because it gave me the chance to be creative and give a twist to the classic childhood story. Made entirely in Illustrator using just the pen tool, gradient meshes, and masking.

Disappearing Rainforest

Disappearing Rainforest

I love drawing nature and animal life, so I took the opportunity to create a Save the Rainforest Campaign poster series. Again made in Illustrator using the pen tool, gradients, various brushes, and smudge tools to create the dissolve effect.

Help Rebuild Our Homes

Help Rebuild Our Homes

Second poster of the Save the Rainforest series, this presents a more hopeful and optimistic approach to the campaign. The human hand prints making up the leaves of the palm tree represent humans helping to rebuild the rainforest.

Iams Dogs

Iams Dogs

As I mentioned before, my favourite subjects to do projects on are animals! This is based on those Iams TV ads, made in Illustrator.

War

War

My Social Issue Poster made in Illustrator (I really like Illustrator!). I decided on a poster about the destructiveness of war. I love drawing animal life, like birds, so I used the symbolism of the dove to use in the message.

My Self-Promotional Poster

My Self-Promotional Poster

A Self-Promotional Poster showcasing some of my work in the design. I wanted to illustrate my love of nature into this poster, while somehow incorporating examples and pieces of my work into it. The design reflects the simple and calm, yet boldness of my style. I used abstract ocean waves and wind as a way of making the pictures in the design flow together.

Save Our Planet

Save Our Planet

I was initially just playing around in Illustrator and practicing the techniques I learned in class when I came up with this poster. The design illustrates the gloomy reality our planet if we don’t do anything to help it. I decided on using bold colours and simple jagged lines to enhance the effect, with black shadow background and exaggerated text effects and filters.

Magic in Wonderland

Magic in Wonderland

Back to my Alice in Wonderland theme: this is an event promo poster for a fictitious magic show, with an Alice in Wonderland twist to it. It incorporates the story of Alice of Wonderland and the mystery of a magic show.
